In conjunction with the celebration of the opening of our new WWI Gallery of the Stonewall Brigade Museum, the 116th Infantry Regiment Foundation is holding an Open House and BBQ at the Stonewall Brigade Museum, 566 Lee Highway, Verona, VA 24482. The event will be held Saturday JULY 15 from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM and the BBQ will be available 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM. A suggested donation of $5.00 for the BBQ meal will benefit the Museum and other projects of The Foundation. In addition we will be hosting a “Community Family Yard Sale” at our site. Details will follow shortly.
A Special Thanks to Rack’em Smack’em Ribs in Verona who is donating the BBQ food for the day. Please consider dining with them when looking to dine out in the Staunton Area. They are located approximately a half mile south of the museum at 385 Lee Hwy., Verona, VA.
The 116th Brigade Museum is proud to announce the expansion or our museum and the opening of our newest exhibit dedicated to the WWI era. In recognition of the Centennial of the United States entry into WWI, we have added an entirely new exhibit and invite you to visit us. The museum is open Monday-Saturday 10:00-5:00 (Mid APR – Mid NOV) and is a Blue Star Museum. In addition to this expansion we have updated our other exhibits and added other new ones. While admission is free, we do accept donations, as a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization. Contact us for additional information or any questions you might have.
The 116th Infantry Regiment Foundation will host “The Punitive Expedition Symposium, The Events Leading Up To WWI” at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Center, starting at 7:00 PM, NOVEMBER 10, 2017.
In conjunction with the annual muster of the 116th Infantry Regiment we will sponsor this symposium on the events leading up to World War I. The featured speakers are Major General Timothy P. Williams, The Adjutant General of Virginia, and CW4 (Ret) Alexander F. Barnes, Virginia National Guard Command Historian, and additional speakers TBA.
Open to the public as a sponsored historical education event. A donation of $10 is accepted and benefit the 116th Infantry Regiment Foundation, Inc. and its projects including the Stonewall Brigade Museum and support of the 116th Infantry Regiment “The Stonewall Brigade” (USARS).
In conjunction with the Annual Muster of the 116th Infantry Regiment, the Regiment will sponsor the Annual 116th Infantry Regiment 5K Race in Gypsy Hill Park. Race participants can register online, by mail, or in person, however those registering on the day of the event may not receive a race shirt. Participants will need to check in on the Armory Drill Floor prior to the start of the race. Check In and Same Day registration at the Howie Memorial Armory, 101 116th Regimental Rd, Staunton, VA. no later than 8:30 AM. Race starts at 9:00 AM.

Advance online or mail in registration is $35 per participant. On site Day of the Race registration is $40 per participant. Proceeds from the race go to support the 116th Infantry Regiment Foundation and the Stonewall Brigade Museum.
The Annual Muster of the 116th Infantry Regiment will take place on Saturday, 11 November, 2017 at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Center. The Muster Reception will begin at 5:00 PM and the Muster Dinner and Program will begin at 6:00 PM.
